President / Vice-President of the United States:

Barack Obama / Joe Biden (D)

State Propositions:

1A: Yes.
Not a perfect proposal but a beginning to an important process of building high-speed rail.

2: Yes.
This is a measure that returns some humanity and morality to animal harvesting for food.

3: Yes.
Children’s Hospitals treat the majority of California’s low-income children. This measure addresses rising costs of treatment.

4: No.
Though all abortions are tragedies on various levels, requiring minors to notify parents introduces new risks and complications for the minor pregnant girl, who may alternatively choose an illegal, unsafe abortion and/or may contemplate suicide.

5: Yes.
Drug addiction is just that, an addiction and should be largely decriminalized. This measure saves money.

6: No.
Too much money for more prisons.

7: No.
Poorly written bill that may ultimately prohibit the development of renewable energy.

8: No.
Our country is founded on the idea that all people are created equal and have certain natural rights – one of which is the right to be treated equally by the law. To treat gay couples differently is against the California Constitution, against the intention of the Framers of the U.S. Constitution, and violates fundamental principles of human rights dating back to the Enlightenment.

9: No.
This measure seeks to solve a non-existent problem. Victim’s rights already exist under the law. Proponents of this bill seek to limit the rights of the accused in ways that are dangerous to individual rights.

10: No.
This is a proposal that benefits one primary company and seeks to trick voters. It may actually prohibit the development of renewable fuels.

11: No.
This doesn’t create a fundamental change necessary to eliminate gerrymandering – it allows for members of the two dominant parties to draw districts, essentially not changing the existing system. A more fundamental reform is necessary.

12: No.
